AN ILLUSTRIOUS GROUP OF FIVE VERACRUZ FIGURINES

 

These five female figurines, 2 standing on ceremonial litters, hands holding the side rails of the structure, wearing towering feathered headdresses, beaded necklaces, broad ponchos and skirts, the 3 other figurines seated on raised 4 legged platforms, 2 with openwork design, each wearing demi buccal masks, hands resting on the knees, wearing tall headdresses, 2 with brad forehead bands ornamented with birds, all with long plain garments, beaded necklaces and earspools, all in buff color. Height: 7.5 in. to 8.5 in.
